Foodies Unite! If 20 tasty food trucks wasn’t enough to tempt your taste buds, then knowing that the little voice in your tummy (known as hunger) is helping support local charities for supporting the Mobile Food Rodeo this September!
Every Rodeo ticket you buy helps put $2 dollars directly back into the community to one of our favorite non-profits, Solid Ground. Organizer, Ryan Reiter says “We believe it’s just as important to support the community, as it is to celebrate it”.
This past summer, the Fremont Outdoor Movies help raise over $15,000 for local non-profits in King County. Our annual Red, White and Dead Zombie Walk helped raise over $5,000 for the Fremont’s Solstice Parade creators, the Fremont Arts Council. We also teamed up with the CoHo Team of Windemere Agents to help raise over $9,000 for local non-profit,Solid Ground at this year’s screening of Princess Bride on July 30th.
Every year, our company picks a local charity for our series of events to help raise awareness and money through fun community events throughout the year. This year, we are hoping to help raise $10,000 at the Mobile Food Rodeo and YOU can help make that happen.
Solid Ground was founded in 1974 by community leaders and concerned citizens of one of Seattle’s then most economically devastated neighborhoods, Fremont. Originally called the Fremont Public Association, our services — emergency food bank, clothing bank, and employment program — reflected the desperate needs and the determined response of a mobilized and committed neighborhood.
As the scope and severity of homelessness and poverty have increased over the years, so too has our reach to our greater community as well as our range of services. Now based in Seattle’s Wallingford neighborhood, our nearly 30 programs help more than 64,000 households each year to overcome poverty and build better futures throughout King County and beyond.
